Prattville Swim League Swims Strong at Anniston!!!!

Twenty-two PSL swimmers competed at the 2008 Anniston Mellow Mushroom Swim on 29 March at the Anniston YMCA. Compared to past years’ attendance, this year the meet was a big event with over 190 athletes representing 10 Alabama communities competing. Prattville fielded strong relays with Girls 9-10, Boys 11-12, and Boys 15-18 medley relays finishing first in their respective age group. The Boys 13-14 medley relay finished second while the Girls 13-14 medley relay finished third. PSL’s relay performance was matched by equally impressive individual efforts by Elizabeth Schloss, Jeremie Schloss, Mackenzie Brown, Madison Brown, Justin Hood, Peyton Langley, and Luke Watkins. In each of their four individual events they finished no lower than third place. Another strength was the performance of 10 -13- year-old boys all of who turned in unbelievable swims. Jason Berthe (10) swam a personal best by 3.8 secs in the 50 Back, Thomas Berthe (11) dropped 3.8 in the 100 Free left, Mike Damato (13) tore up the 200 Individual Medley (IM) dropping 3.9 secs, Nick Hernandez (11) did equally strong in the 100IM cutting 5 secs, Justin Hood (11) took off 5.5 secs in his 100 Free, and Logan Meyer had a huge swim dropping almost 7 secs in the 100 Breast. According to Head Coach Marcy Dolan the “great meet results reflect an even greater efforts at practice by all our swimmers!”
